Line-up

The band's third album, Turn Back, marked a return to the classic sextet format of previous albums and was a more powerful, constant effort with a harder edge than Hydra. Its more punk-rock sound reflected the maturation of the group, with drummer Bobby Kimball's increased virtuosity on drums, and an improved, mature vocal delivery from singer Joseph Williams. Keyboardist David Paich's work was more precise, sharper and less cloned earlier performances.

After touring to promote their album, the group recorded an Amsterdam live performance that was released on Eagle Records as a 2-CD set titled Falling In Between.
