The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

The Q Revo is a great choice if you are looking for a robotic vacuum and mop that's mid-range. It provides a fantastic mopping experience, but doesn't have the advanced features of its more expensive sibling.

In tests, it was able to tackle dry oats and dust on medium-pile carpet as well as pet hair on hard flooring. However, like cheaper models, it doesn't use LIDAR to help you map your home.

1. Roomba S9+ from iRobot

The iRobot Roomba S9+ is one of the top-rated robot vacuums. It comes with a variety of features and impressive cleaning power, including a dirt compartment that is built into the base of charging. This robot can recognize your habits of cleaning, and suggest automated schedules to provide you with an effortless cleaning experience.

The setup process is simple thanks to the iRobot Home app that walks you through the process. Once the system is in place it can begin automated cleaning with a single button click. You can select a general clean that prioritizes cleaning up larger debris like cereal and rice or two detailed maps of your home to ensure your entire home is properly arranged.

This robot vacuum is effective on both bare floors and low-pile carpet. It is able to take large objects and does not lose suction as fast as some other models and can pick up pet hair with ease. It's not the best buy robot vacuum time with plush or high-pile carpet, however iRobot says it will get better with future models.

The S9+ features a new design from iRobot, which focuses on enhancing edge and corner cleaning. It's the first Roomba to adopt a flat-fronted D-shaped design, which will allow it to fit into walls and furniture. It's a step up from the hockey puck-shaped robovacs that are standard however we found it only marginally superior to circular models.

iRobot also claims the S9+ comes with an advanced filtering system that blocks tiny dust particles and allergens from recirculating throughout your home. We think this is a nice claim, but not enough to justify a premium price.

Its smart navigation system utilizes sensors to remember the arrangement of your home and vSLAM to map your interior. It then cleans your entire home efficiently by avoiding obstacles such as stairs and other obstacles. The iRobot Home App allows you to schedule cleaning times and also set virtual boundary markers so that the robot can determine which areas need extra attention.

2. Roborock Q Revo

Roborock Q Revo is a robotic that is a combination of mopping and vacuuming. Its vacuum settings are as effective as those of more expensive models and its mopping system is better still--its spinning pads do a better job of cleaning your floors than a stationary vibration pad.

The only drawback is the absence of a second brush for more thorough cleaning. However, that's not a problem if you want to own one of the top robots on the market. The dust tank on the robovac is larger than many of its competitors and filling it up takes only two or three cycles even when you have maximum dirt.

In terms of the mopping system, I was amazed by its ability to scrub hard dirt off my floors. The two lowest mopping settings, which are less powerful than high-powered modes, produce very minimal noise, meaning you can work or even watch television without getting distracted. It will gently bump into a wall or furniture and then move on if it comes across one.

What makes the Q Revo apart is that it's designed to function almost completely on its own, with no need for user intervention. The robo-vac has a multifunction dock that automatically transfers physical garbage into the hidden bin, as well as washes and dry the mop pads and refills its clean water tank. The app is adept at notifying you when something needs attention, like the clean water tank running low or a scheduled vacuuming session that was cancelled because of a full dust bin.

You can also create or combine rooms to personalize the way Q Revo manages your home. This feature is beneficial if you have different flooring in different areas of your home, or when you have to frequently get rid of clutter like toys, clothes and books. The robot vacuum is also efficient and was among the top performers in my tests, picking up debris from both carpets and hardwood floors in the first attempt. It can also vacuum up wet spills however I would recommend cleaning them off with a damp cloth prior to sending the robot into.

3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni has all of the features you'd want from a premium robot vacuum and mop and more. Similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+, it has an excellent vacuum that has a powerful suction that cleans hard and carpet floors, and the mop's rotating design that can scrub tough stains. It also comes with a self-cleaning station that automatically cleans and empty mop pads to keep them clean and ready for reuse. It also has a sensor system that recognizes obstacles better, allowing it to avoid falling onto furniture and other objects.

The biggest difference over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that it has a sleeker, more modern design, thanks to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best known for its Bang & Olufsen products). While still quite big--it's over two feet high and deep and weighs nearly four pounds--the entire robot and its base are much smaller than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot J7.

This model is more efficient than the X1 as it charges faster and can clean up 1,500 square feet in a single charge. It also has a bigger dustbin that is more durable to hold more debris and is easier to empty it when needed.

Finally lastly, the X2 Omni has a more user-friendly app and a voice assistant that works offline, allowing you to use it even if you're not at home. It also has more mopping modes and a smart routing feature that gives it the flexibility to clean specific rooms or areas of your home instead just following a set route.

The X2 Omni is the best mopping robot. Its mop pads rotating clean tough stains and its motor generates plenty of downward pressure. Its vacuuming performance is outstanding too, and it boosts suction when it senses carpets to ensure that it does a thorough job. It also has a large battery that can last for weeks between charges and its mopping mode is as effective as anything we've seen in a consumer-grade robot.

4. Dreametech L10s Ultra

The Dreametech L10s Ultra is a high-end mop and vacuum robot that comes with a host of features that you don't often see on robots of this price. It can build detailed floor maps, detect various flooring types, and it's one of the few robots that automatically wash and dry the mop pads. But while these functions are useful but they also push the L10s Ultra into the luxury category which could make it somewhat more expensive than the average homeowner need.

The L10s Ultra looks like a modern floor cleaning machine. It is tall and slim with a white finish, accentuated by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine features an impressive bumper that protects the furniture and vacuum cleaner when you are moving around your home. Sensors are hidden behind the front pane which help the L10s Ultra navigate tight corners and avoid obstacles.

On the top of the vacuum there is a single button which is used as an on/off switch. This button will activate the vacuum. Clicking it again will shut it off and send it back to its base station. The circular menu in the middle of the control panel allows you to choose cleaning modes or schedules, as well as preferences. The left and right buttons on the screen will open up the settings menu of the app where you can modify the way that the L10s Ultra integrates with your home.

Like the iRobot Roomba S9+ and Roborock Q Revo, the L10s Ultra uses a combination of LIDAR and camera-based navigation technology to help you map out your home. This allows the robot to vacuum and mop effectively without getting stuck. The L10s Ultra is a powerful vacuum cleaner, removing 98.4 percent of the debris we test on hard floors, and taking out all but stubborn juice staining. The mops are also efficient, clearing 98.4 percent of debris from our tile, wood, and carpet tests. However, it wasn't as efficient in dealing with sand on the floor, or the quaker oats that are on carpet.
