BMW Ghost Immobiliser

The Ghost utilizes the CAN data bus to communicate with your vehicle. This stops thieves from replacing the ECU or adding new locks to bypass the security system.

The Ghost is unique to other immobilisers as it doesn't use key-fobs or LED indicators. Instead it uses your vehicle's existing buttons to allow you to enter a unique disarm sequence that you only are aware of.

Stop & Start

If you've ever driven a BMW or used its stop-start feature, you may have noticed the engine continues to run for about 30 seconds after you release the brake pedal. The BMW engine management system continues to monitor the vehicle for signals that comes from the ignition key. Once it finds this, the vehicle will continue to run. The Autowatch 2 Ghost immobiliser prevents this from happening by stopping the car when you push a button sequence.

Our BMW ghost immobiliser is a revolutionary next-generation device that does not require cutting OEM wires or adding an aftermarket alarm and key fobs. It is connected to the BMW's CAN data network and is programmed with an encrypted, secure PIN code which is accessed using buttons installed in your car. This lets you enter an exact key-push sequence that isn't found in the normal menus for media, such as volume up/down, cruise control, source or air conditioning on, which prevents your car from starting until this is entered. The PIN can be between 4 and 20 characters, making it hard for thieves to figure out.

We can also include a service/valet mode. This is activated while your car is being serviced so that the Ghost is kept from view by the garage. This can be achieved by pressing the service button on your infotainment device 5 times (the system will flash to confirm this) and when you return the ghost 11 immobiliser will automatically re-arm.

Service / Valet Mode

The Ghost is a top-of-the-line immobiliser designed to prevent your vehicle from being stolen by key cloning or hacking. It works by utilizing the factory buttons of your vehicle to create an unique sequence of pushes that only you know, much as the pin code security of your mobile phone. It's incredibly discreet and quiet, not to mention dissuading even the most determined thieves from ever trying!

If you are parked at home or in a meet and greet in a meeting and greet situation, the Ghost can be set to service mode. This lets you start the car using your keys, but it stops the engine from starting again until the correct code is entered. This is perfect for customers who must give their vehicles to valet companies, or trusted family members or friends. It also lets you get the car into the garage for maintenance or repairs without having to worry about it getting taken away or altered by a mechanic while you are waiting.

Once the service/valet mode is activated when the service/valet mode is enabled, your BMW is unable to drive once it has been started. This stops anyone else from driving it while you are away. When you return, the car will revert to normal and will not be altered or stolen.

The Ghost can be installed on any BMW. All you need are the correct keys because the device does not utilize the original remotes, but can be used in conjunction with them. We are TASSA-registered, DBS-security checked and fully trained in system installation. You can be assured that the installation will be done correctly and that your Ghost device will function as intended. Your car will also be registered on a database, and you will receive documentation that you can provide to your insurance company, they are awestruck by these devices and you will often receive substantial discounts!

If you don't want to use a smartphone, or are not comfortable with it, we can supply an optional Bluetooth tag that can be used to disable the Ghost. This is an additional expense and requires a different Bluetooth pairing.

Anti-Hijack

Ghost developed this discreet device that is unobtrusive and helps in battling the ever-increasing sophistication of high-tech thieves. It's designed to stop thieves from putting in an ignition key or replacing the ECU to start your vehicle and drive off. Ghost connects to your CAN network and utilizes buttons on your vehicle to create an individual push-sequence that has to be entered before the engine can be started.

This will activate the anti-hijack mode and once active any attempt to start the engine will be stopped. The system will sharpen the horn and flash the indicators. It will also stall the vehicle when the code isn't found. By entering your push sequence or entering service mode, you can cancel the Anti-Hijack feature. This allows your vehicle to temporarily start without having to enter PIN.

If you have an GPS device that is connected to your BMW, you can use it to disable the Anti-Hijack function so that you can continue to navigate using your navigation system even when the vehicle is parked. You can also use your mobile phone to control the anti theft feature and other functions.

This is a Tassa approved product that is recognised by most insurance companies and will aid in reducing the risk of your treasured possessions being stolen. It is completely invisible and will not interfere with the functionality of your vehicle. It doesn't require any programming expertise to install or use. It is totally undetectable by diagnostic tools that thieves will employ, and it is unaffected by key cloning since it is directly connected to your vehicles CAN data network.

Remote Control

We can connect the Ghost device with your mobile app to enable remote control of keyless start and go capabilities. This is useful when you are else and valet or mechanic need to start your vehicle. The system allows you to start the car by selecting drive and then quit the service mode without the need to use your key fobs. You can also view your vehicle in real time on a map displayed on your smartphone, perfect to track your car while moving around.

The Ghost can be installed under the dashboard, or in the centre console. It is completely concealed, tamperproof, and does not require any additional wiring. The device is connected to the vehicles CAN Data Network (similar to an Ethernet cable) and a unique PIN code is embedded into it. This pin code needs to be chosen before the vehicle is started. This prevents thieves from bypassing the system by using a cloned or replaced ECU.

If your vehicle is stolen the Ghost will enter service mode and disable all functions unless you have the PIN code or can use the mobile application to disarm it. This feature was created to protect your vehicle from high-tech thieves who use relay boxes to steal it. It also stops thieves from using their mobile phones to activate your sat nav or MP3 player to track your vehicle!

Ghost also blocks 'Relay-style Frequency Amplification'. This is the most typical way a car is being stolen with a key-fob that has been cloned or stolen by hacking. Ghost allows you to prevent this kind of theft by installing a device known as Secure-A Key inside your vehicle. The device is inserted into the key-fob in your vehicle and removes the battery after a few minutes of inactivity. This can be done on the majority of modern PKE key-fobs.
