This is among the best models offered by iRobot and certainly performs well. It maneuvers easily across a range of different surfaces and is very efficient at sucking up dirt, dust, and debris. It's also extremely well-constructed and looks pretty nice as well.

This unit has an open-front design that allows it to get closer to corners and walls than the older round designs. This model doesn't work well with shag or high-pile carpeting.

During our testing during our testing, we discovered that the iRobot S9+ cleans thoroughly and efficiently on a variety of floor surfaces, from medium-pile to hard carpets and rug. It also did well on vinyl, and laminate flooring. It did a good job of maneuvering around furniture and objects, but it did have some issues with stairs, and could accidentally crash into bookcases.

We were impressed by the feature that the S9 automatically returns to its base to empty its dust bin once it's full, which significantly minimizes the need to be hands-on with maintenance. The dust bin should last for about 30 loads or a month and half. It's recommended to replace the filter every few months (as suggested by iRobot). We've found that the iRobot S9+ doesn't get very loud during operation, so it's a good choice for people who live with pets or children.

Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid

Robot vacuum cleaners are designed to take care of the work for you and can be used to clean carpet and hardwood floors. The best ones are controlled and monitored using apps for smartphones, and some even have mopping tech for bathroom and kitchen floors. They're an excellent choice for busy families and they are becoming more affordable. If you're looking for the most advanced technology in your robotic cleaner and you're looking to shell out a bit more.

The Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid is a complete vacuum and mopping machine making it a great choice for those in a flat with multiple floors. The vacuum's 0.6l bin can hold a large amount of pet hair. Its dual motors provide impressive cleaning power. The dustbin can be removed and emptied with ease which is beneficial since you'll have to do it frequently.

It's easy to set up and I would recommend fully charging the X8 Hybrid before running it for the first time. Install the Eufy Home application and follow the directions to connect it to your WiFi network. The app will then help you draw an outline of your home. Rooms can be named, divide large spaces into smaller rooms (good for open plan living) and guide the X8 Hybrid to specific areas that need cleaning at the time of. Eufy's app is more user-friendly and precise than other robots that have similar scanning and mapping capabilities.

A great feature on the X8 Hybrid is that you can control the vacuum or mop with your voice, thanks to the integration with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. This is a nice addition that makes the robot even more hands-free. And it is very effective in our test house.

As with many robotic vacuums the X8 Hybrid has some issues with floors that are bare. It may miss pet hair and other small items, and it tends to get into things, like its own charger on the base for charging. It's not as quiet as some other models we've tested, and the whirring sounds could be distracting.

Roborock V3S pro

This robot doesn't have the same features as some of the more expensive ones we've tested, but it does cover the basics. It has a big dust bin that can hold a large amount of dirt before needing to be cleaned. The mop and vacuum system is ideal for hard floors and carpets with a low pile. It's also very quiet and we were able to watch television while it was cleaning without feeling like it was blasting us with noise.

Our test subjects were extremely impressed by how easy the machine was to operate and set up. They also appreciated its ability to eliminate all the mess from their floors. It even did a pretty excellent job of removing pet hair and messes from carpeting, though it was less successful in tackling stubborn stuck-on stains. The users found the app to be user-friendly and intuitive, and they were able to schedule the vacuum to clean on a regular basis to reduce the amount they had to do manually. The only drawback is that it does not have any mapping technology or object avoidance, which means you can't send it to specific rooms or follow virtual boundaries (though magnetic boundary strips are compatible).

Another model from iRobot's low-cost line which is the V3S Pro has some impressive features for its price. It was the most efficient robot vacuum in our tests to avoid obstacles and map them. It's also the best budget option for those looking for a more intelligent, self-emptying robot vacuum that can take care of hair and pet messes on floors made of hardwood or low-pile carpeting. It's also extremely quiet and comes with a large dust bin that can hold plenty of debris before it needs to be emptied.

The V3S Pro did not make it onto our top choice lists from reliable sources that conduct hands-on tests, however it received high marks from Modern Castle, Smart Robot Reviews and The Ambient. They liked the ease of setup and use, however they also noted that its battery life is short and it didn't manage to avoid some of the most difficult problems we've encountered.

Roborock Q Revo
